Halloween is over. Thanksgiving is in 2 days. You know what that means. The 2019 holiday season is upon us! Before we head into the biggest shopping weekend of the year (helllloooooooooooooo Black Friday, Small Biz Saturday, and Cyber Monday) I wanted to bring you my annual holiday gift guide!

I still love (and received) a lot of what I put on last year’s guide…and for the record, it is my most popular post to date, so I know it’s got good stuff in it!

One of my biggest pet peeves when I look at holiday gift guides (and I have for years!) is that they get super specific, which doesn’t really allow you to find something for that one hard to shop for person. This year, I wanted to bring you a mix of very specific things to gift to the one’s you love most and some places to find great things too! I want to give the most opportunity for you to find great stuff.

2019 After the Last Pound Holiday Gift Guide

Miscellaneous

Gifts for the hardest on your list!

That’s right, I’m kicking it off with the misc. jumble of stuff without a category. Why? Cause that’s usually where you find the stuff for the people you know and love who are kind of hard to find a holiday gift for. And that’s why you’re scrolling Pinterest and this blog for ideas. You don’t need ideas for everyone else. So here we go!

FabFitFun Box

This is such a fun idea! I recently started Stitch Fix, and love the variety of clothes that I get, especially because if it were up to me, I’d pick the same styles over and over again. Stitch Fix introduces me to new styles that I’d normally never try, but end up loving. This is similar, but for beauty! In the boxes, there is a wide array of items (worth $200) in the beauty, fashion, and relaxation world! PLUS, you get to customize your box every season! Lashes, face masks, jade rollers, face masks, scarves, every box is a gift, so if you gift this box either once or for a year, it’s truly the gift that keeps on giving!

Gift Cards

Guys, hear me out here. I feel like gift cards get a bad rap, like they are a lazy/throwaway gift, or that by giving someone a gift card it means you don’t really know someone. I disagree. Strongly. Why? Because I would always rather pick something out for myself vs. someone pick something out that I won’t like, or use. If you know a store I love, but not sure what I’d pick from it? Give me a gift card! Nordstrom? Great, I could get jeans, shoes, a top, a dress, or kids stuff. Amazon? Well I could get just about anything. I’m asking for makeup, but if someone around me doesn’t know what to get, I’d happily accept at Sephora gift card. Do not shame the gift card!!!

Foam Roller

Know an fitness fiend? Have a coworker (or yourself) that sits all day and gets sore? Foam roller! They seem simple, and sometimes feel silly using because you might look slightly ridiculous (just me?) but they are life changing! They can work out knots, help with your cool down, and help relieve pain – I used mine a LOT while pregnant because of sciatic pain. It was a dream.

Phone-Friendly Gloves

Listen. It’s almost winter. It’s going to be cold. No one wants to pull off a glove to answer a phone call. Or when you are running or exercising outdoors, you want the ability to change your song choice without pausing!

Tiny-Space Friendly Weight Set

A full set of weights are a heavy cost and space investment, especially in condos and apartments. Not all of us have the space to convert a room or a garage to a gym, I certainly don’t. My kettle bell set sits in between the couch and the bookshelf, where no children will trip and bust a lip, I won’t break my toe, and it’s easy access for when I do workouts in my living room. A nesting set of weights is a great idea for your fitness fam who has low space and wants to up those muscles.

Adult Coloring Books

We all need a little relaxation in our lives. Don’t like candles, bubble baths, or reading? Great. Try a coloring book – something we all loved in elementary school! If you or your friends like creative use of words….try this one.

BarkBox Subscription

Don’t forget your furry friends!!!! Know someone who loves their pet as much as (or more than) people? Go for their hearts, and get some pet gear!

Personal Phone Charger

Lets face facts: they’re making phones with crummy batteries. If you’re going somewhere that you wont be near a charger for hours (airplane, Disneyland, shopping, hiking, biking) you need a portable charger. I have several – two for airplanes, and one for my purse. Why? Because I always want to be able to pass time or take pictures!

Weighted Blanket

Do you love someone with anxiety or who struggles with sleeping – or do you? Enter: weighted blankets. The weight gives a soothing pressure across someones entire body, which can help release serotonin, and feels like a hug. And as a side note, if you’re ever having a panic attack, pull a Grey’s Anatomy and get a BIG heavy hug – does the same thing. 🙂

Clothes and Accessories

Clothes and accessories

Hello, its winter! How about some cute long sleeve workout shirts? A nice workout raincoat? Oh, is that too easy? Great, here are some more ideas for you that aren’t just “clothes”….

FitBit

I still love my clip on FitBit, but the watches are the way of the future. They have (thankfully) started adding some classier bands for the watches, which makes them look nicer and easier to wear at work without screaming “I WORKOUT!”

Body Wipes

No place to shower after a workout? Plans too close together to run home? Shockingly hot in your office and you got sweaty? Had to walk a really long way from your car to your desk? (is that just me?) Have a little mini bathing session with body wipes – and these are biodegradable!

Makeup

I’m a lazy makeup doer, but recently I have been doing a lot of learning, thanks to my sister in law who knows more about doing makeup than I know about most topics. She’s taught me some good basics, and bought me some good items to help me do mine with more skill. Things on my list this year? Cute, funky new eyeliners, face cream like what Orgins makes, new brushes, some face masks, and an easy-but-daring lip color. One of my favorites for new makeup (and setting spray!) is NYX Professional. (and as a special holiday gift treat – they offer engraving on a lot of their stuff!!!)

Good For The Soul Socks

Did you know that socks and underwear are the most requested items for donation at homeless shelters? Following the one for one method of other non-profits, Bombas gives a pair of socks to a homeless shelter for every pair sold. My husband and I each have several pairs, my sister in law introduced us to them – they’re a good thickness, have solid arch support, and I like the funky colors. Our toddler has quite a few pairs too, and she LOVES them. They’re her “big girl” socks, because they look like ours, and she LOVES matching with us.

Kitchen

Kitchen Gear!

We could all use a few more fun tools in the kitchen right? Last year, I gave you some practical basics, that I use pretty much every day. This year? A little more outside the box, which makes it EASIER for you to buy these for your friends and family, since they aren’t in every kitchen in America!

Spiralizer (it also makes fries)

Listen, I know how easy it is to buy the pre-spiraled zoodles at Safeway (cause I do it all the time) but they are FIVE DOLLARS every time. The zucchini? Like a dollar. You’re paying for them to zooldle your zoodles. Get the gift that truly keeps on giving for your favorite zoodle lover- a spiralizer. And plus…it makes curly fries. So there’s that.

Aerogarden

My cousin has one of these, and emphatically loves it. For those that don’t have a yard, this is a way to grow your own herbs, without taking up a terrible amount of space. OR for those that do have a yard, it’s a good way to grow them year round, especially if you live in a less than ideal climate.

LifeStraw

OK HEAR ME OUT. We live in the PNW, so we hear that we should be prepping for “the big one” quite a bit. My sister actually got us to truly start to prepare (not in like a Doomsday Preppers way, but like a logical just-have-a-plan way). Blissfully, last Christmas, my mother-in-law got each of the adult kids a LifeStraw. We keep ours in our cars, so we are good to go on the go, but we need to get more. This straw will filter water as you drink it, making any water source a clean water source. This is, of course, rad for your disaster kit, but its also amazing for hiking and camping. Think of the win of not having to carry a heavy Nalgene, then having to carry an empty one, by replacing it with this!

And there you have it folks. The 2019 After the Last Pound Holiday Gift Guide is a wrap!
